Artist Entrepreneur

Minnihan Painting and Fine Finishes was founded in 2000 by painter and muralist Paul Minnihan, whose passion for craftsmanship and respect for the client experience continue to shape every project the company undertakes.

Paul leads a close-knit team of professional, skilled painters and artisans known for their precision, care, and professionalism. Whether executing a complex decorative finish or painting a room in a single, flawless color, the team approaches each project with the same level of focus and pride. They are considerate, professional, and attentive to detail, working cleanly and efficiently while staying focused on quality.

Every job is carefully planned and personally overseen by Paul, who remains actively involved and guides the process. His dedication to continuous learning keeps Minnihan Painting and Fine Finishes. at the forefront of its craft. Paul regularly researches new materials and techniques, expanding the team’s capabilities while honoring time-tested methods. His travels abroad—for both work and inspiration—bring a global perspective to the studio, and the influence of diverse cultures and traditions can often be seen in the depth and detail of the company’s work.

A native of Minnesota, Paul has called Chicago home for many years. He is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1991), where he developed a strong foundation in fine art. Working across multiple media—including oil, watercolor, and graphite—his personal artwork focuses on capturing the essence and character of his subjects while remaining true to his philosophy of representation.

That same philosophy guides Minnihan Painting. Through close collaboration, careful listening, and an unwavering attention to detail, Paul and his team strive to bring each client’s vision to life—creating spaces that feel intentional, beautifully crafted, and enduring.

“After seeing your portfolio I saw that you had a very unique array of talent, very different from many others out there. You are a spectacular artist; thank you for your hard work and artistry on-site.”
